Today, Beloved Truth launched a new study group on Facebook – OASIS (Online Anytime Soaking in Scripture). We are starting with Psalms and will no doubt be soaking for quite a long time since there are 150 Psalms.
So as I got underway today, I was drawn particularly to Psalm 1:3 …. “He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water.” Sure, on the most simple of levels we know exactly what it means to plant something. But when I started digging in for a word study, it was one of those AH HA moments that come as a result of digging truths out of Scripture for yourself with the Holy Spirit as your teacher. So just take a look at this from BLUELETTERBIBLE.
Notice specifically the “to transplant – plant.” Have you ever done something like this? Then you’ve transplanted. You’ve taken a seedling that you’ve nurtured (or someone else has) from just a seed and it’s started to sprout. Then it’s outgrown the little container and either must be moved to a larger pot or perhaps even planted in the yard where it has plenty of room to grow.
And guess what? As a believer, as a precious child of God, you’ve had that done to you as well! Oh yes, you have. Just look at this from Colossians 1:13-14
13 For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
In Psalm 1, it’s the Blessed/Righteous man or the Wicked/Sinner/Scoffer. In Colossians 1:13-14 it’s the same. The wicked/sinner/scoffer was in that domain of darkness. But now, transferred into the kingdom of His Beloved Son, just like the tree planted by streams of water.
We need to share the good news that the transplants are available!
