Psa 47:1-9 ESV
1 Clap your hands, all peoples! Shout to God with loud songs of joy!
2 For the LORD, the Most High, is to be feared, a great king over all the earth.
3 He subdued peoples under us, and nations under our feet.
4 He chose our heritage for us, the pride of Jacob whom he loves.
5 God has gone up with a shout, the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.
6 Sing praises to God, sing praises! Sing praises to our King, sing praises!
7 For God is the King of all the earth; sing praises with a psalm!
8 God reigns over the nations; God sits on his holy throne.
9 The princes of the peoples gather as the people of the God of Abraham. For the shields of the earth belong to God; he is highly exalted!

O Mighty God, our Father,
You are God, the Sovereign of all creation. You are eternal. You are the Most High. You cannot be defeated. You don’t need anything. You know all things. Your understanding is beyond our comprehension.
You chose us to be Your children. You love us. You have promised to never leave us nor forsake us. You are good, and what You do is good; so please show us Your ways. Teach us Your paths. Lead us in Your truth and teach us; for You are God our Savior. For You we wait . . . (Psalm 25).
Father, we need Your guidance; we need You to teach us Your ways. Everything feels so uncertain and out of control. Evil is rampant, and righteousness seems to have little credibility. But we MUST trust in Your steadfast love and faithfulness. We must obey You as Your children. You are our Father, and we love You. We have no good apart from You . . .(Psalm 16)
And, so, we praise You, O God. You have always been God; You will always be God. You do not change. We do not need to understand all of Your ways in order to obey You. We praise You because You are God, not because we like our circumstances.
We long for the day when all creation will bow before You. You will have defeated Satan, and evil. O, God, what glory! Father, make us faithful to share Your salvation until that day. Evil seems rampant because so many still do not worship You as their Savior. They are still in the devil’s snare, and they need to be set free. You are the One who frees the captives, Lord. You freed us. Help us to obey You. We want to love You with all our heart and soul and mind and strength. We must love our neighbor as ourselves (Mark 12).
Father, praising You, thanking You, gives us peace and reminds us of not only Your love and care, but also that You are God. You are enough.
As you pray this week, remember our brothers and sisters in Uzbekistan, and continue to pray for our brothers and sisters in Syria. Pray that hearts would be open to trust Jesus their only true Savior.
