Psa 46:10-11 ESV – “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah
Psa 131:1-3 ESV – O LORD, my heart is not lifted up; my eyes are not raised too high; I do not occupy myself with things too great and too marvelous for me. But I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me. O Israel, hope in the LORD from this time forth and forevermore.
Almighty, Sovereign God,
Today I am so comforted and relieved that YOU ARE GOD. I do not have that job. I am so completely unqualified and ill-equipped. Forgive me, Lord, when I try to take on Your job. My task is to calm and quiet my soul in submission to Your will. Not to tell You what to do or rage and strain against the reins because I am not getting my way. That is not trust in You. That is “being wise in my own eyes” (Proverbs 3) and it just plain does not work . . .
God, I want You to be exalted among the nations. I want You to be exalted in the earth. I want those who have not heard of You to hear. I pray that You would open hearts to repent and believe the gospel. I pray that You would grant repentance to my loved ones who are captured by satan to do his will.
Father, I trust Your plan for me. I don’t need to know every detail. Help me to be a good listener, and then to obey You immediately, with no striving, no argument. You are God. You are my Master.
You love me. I love You,
