    Monday Prayer 12.4.17

    Psa 111:1-10 ESV –
    1  Praise the LORD! I will give thanks to the LORD with my whole heart, in the company of the upright, in the congregation.
    O, Great and mighty and wise God,
    No matter what, I must start my day with praise to You, for who You are. This world and all that is in it, only exists because of Your will and Your plan and Your mercy.
    And I give thanks to You, precious Lord, because You made me and chose me. And, You have given me others who love You with whom I can praise You. Even if I am feeling alone, it’s not true. You have chosen others for Your glory and we are praising You together.
    2 Great are the works of the LORD, studied by all who delight in them.
    3 Full of splendor and majesty is his work, and his righteousness endures forever.
    4 He has caused his wondrous works to be remembered; the LORD is gracious and merciful.
    5 He provides food for those who fear him; he remembers his covenant forever.
    6 He has shown his people the power of his works, in giving them the inheritance of the nations.
    7 The works of his hands are faithful and just; all his precepts are trustworthy;
    8 they are established forever and ever, to be performed with faithfulness and uprightness.
    God, Your works are great! I love to study Your Word.
    Though I may not pass through the Red Sea on dry land as Israel did — I see that You are sovereign over nature;
    though I haven’t seen the sun stand still as Joshua did — I see that You will protect and defend me;
    Though I have never been fed by ravens like Elijah — I see that You will provide for me, and You understand weariness and discouragement;
    I may not be in a physical prison like Paul, Silas, Peter, Joseph, etc. . . — but I see that You are Immanuel in any circumstance, and You have a plan and a purpose for all things. You give strength and hope and assurance that Your purposes will stand . . .
    9 He sent redemption to his people; he has commanded his covenant forever. Holy and awesome is his name!
    10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all those who practice it have a good understanding. His praise endures forever!
    Lord, I will never plumb the depths of my gratitude for Your redeeming me. And not only that, but You have promised to never leave me nor forsake me, to give me works to do, to give me purpose, to use my suffering for Your purpose, so many promises and Your faithfulness means that You will keep all of Your promises!
    You are truly awesome!
    Help me to know You through Your Word. Train my mind to retain Your Word. Help me when I fear failure to put my trust in You.
    Help me when I want to procrastinate to put my trust in You.
    Help me when I am weary to put my trust in You.
    Help  me when I am discouraged and anxious to put my trust in You.
    I praise You, O God, with my whole heart. You are my everything. I am Your bondslave.
