My salvation verse is Job 1:21, “….The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. Blessed be the name of the Lord….” This verse was inscribed on a sympathy card that someone mailed to me (an unbeliever at the time) in my darkest hour. My younger brother had just died in a plane crash, and at the time of his death, I had been suffering with infertility for many years. I needed comfort from the God I had been searching for all my life through high school, college, and the early years of our marriage. I didn’t grow up in a Christian home, but I always felt Him calling me. Just knowing that God was in control of the “taking away” of my brother somehow comforted me, and in a matter of a few months, I found out that He “gaveth me” a baby-on-the-way. When two Marine Corps wives shared Jesus with me, I went to the base chaplain in Kaneohe, Hawaii (where my husband was stationed at the time) to ask him all the MANY questions I had. He sent me home with Scriptures to look up in the Bible FOR MYSELF (now you know why I love inductive Bible study!) I accepted Christ as my Savior 45 years ago and have dedicated my life to serving Him.
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish from UCLA (I grew up in California), and I taught high school Spanish for a few years when we lived in Alabama. I studied with Bible Study Fellowship for 5 years when my children were young, and one day I attended a Precept Ministries workshop in San Diego in 1985. I have been a Precept leader for 35 years and have led Precept classes in all the churches where God moved us, as well as in our home. I had the privilege of serving as a Precept Ministries Workshop Trainer for 15 years teaching others how to lead Precept discussions and study deeper for themselves. My husband and I taught Precept curriculum for eight years (2-week semesters) at a Bible College in Kiev, Ukraine.
I look forward to teaching and training with Beloved Truth International. My key verse is from 2 Peter 3:18, “…..grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”
