David and his wife, BJ, are mentors, authors, and conference speakers who specialize in teaching people how to study the Bible for themselves

David Lawson is the Director of Training and Curriculum Development at Hope and Help International, an organization that seeks to meet the needs of Christians in South Asia. With Hope and Help, David focuses on training pastors from remote areas that have little or no access to education. His goal is to equip the nationals to do the work of the ministry. David has been a police officer in the military and with the Atlanta P.D., a pastor, and a youth pastor. Before working for Hope and Help, David and BJ spent 28 years with Precept Ministries International. Both David and his wife, BJ, are mentors, authors, and conference speakers who specialize in teaching people how to study the Bible for themselves.

Currently, David is working on a Doctor of Ministry degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. His project is focused on discipling oral learners using inductive Bible study techniques as listening skills so that oral learners can disciple others.

BJ has had one continuing passion since she became a Christian in 1980, to make disciples who make disciples. Regardless of the platform or the ministry God called her to, the goal has always been to make disciples, share the gospel and teach people how to engage with the Word of God for themselves.

So, from the moment she became a Christian BJ has been a missionary striving to reach the people around her.

For 28 years BJs ministry was associated with Precept Ministries International. But at the end of 2014 God opened up an exciting new opportunity for ministry with Hope and Help International.

With Hope and Help she is responsible to continue to develop training and write Bible study curriculum to help the nationals in South Asia reach their own people groups. So in a sense only the location has changed, the mission has not. Shes still training and equipping people to be disciple makers, just as she has been doing since coming to know the Lord.
