Monday Prayer 01.29.18

Psa 3:1-8 ESV –
1 A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son. O LORD, how many are my foes! Many are rising against me;
2 many are saying of my soul, there is no salvation for him in God. Selah
3 But you, O LORD, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.
4 I cried aloud to the LORD, and he answered me from his holy hill. Selah
5 I lay down and slept; I woke again, for the LORD sustained me.
6 I will not be afraid of many thousands of people who have set themselves against me all around.
7 Arise, O LORD! Save me, O my God! For you strike all my enemies on the cheek; you break the teeth of the wicked.
8 Salvation belongs to the LORD; your blessing be on your people! Selah
What a tremendous gift that I am Your child. You have saved me; and You stay with me. I can cry out to You at any time, and know that You hear me. I can trust that You will always act in my best interest; yes, even when circumstances are difficult, even when life is painful and confusing.
Thank You for being my Sustainer; for being my shield from evil, even for lifting my head to look at You when I just want to focus on me . . .
You are such an amazing God!
This year I am adding a new item to Monday prayer. Each week will highlight a country that is on the OpenDoors World Watch List of the countries in the world that are the most difficult for Christians. I will provide a link that gives some details. Let’s remember our brothers and sisters who are living in very difficult places. God is their Sustainer!

Monday Prayer 01.22.18

Psa 18:30 This God–his way is perfect; the word of the LORD proves true; he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him.
31 For who is God, but the LORD? And who is a rock, except our God?–
32 the God who equipped me with strength and made my way blameless.
33 He made my feet like the feet of a deer and set me secure on the heights.
34 He trains my hands for war, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.
35 You have given me the shield of your salvation, and your right hand supported me, and your gentleness made me great.  ESV
Precious Father,
What a comfort to know that Your ways are perfect. Your decisions are flawless. You are my Father, and You are my Lord.
Thank You for being with me every moment. Thank You for not leaving me helpless and defenseless to face life’s storms alone. I take refuge in Your sovereignty. I hold up the shield of Your salvation. You strengthen me according to Your Word.  You are the Only God, and You are my God and My Father. . .
And I can be at peace, knowing that Your ways are perfect, and Your Word is true — there is none like You.
